Pain We Treat
Tennis Elbow
Melbourne Muscular Therapies
Struggling to pick up or grasp objects without pain on the outer side of your elbow? Tennis Elbow — medically known as Lateral Epicondylitis — is an overuse injury affecting the extensor muscles of the forearm where they attach to the bony prominence on the outside of the elbow.
Your practitioner will take you through a series of lifestyle questions, range of movement tests, and postural assessments to determine the precise underlying cause. Often, treatment extends well beyond the elbow itself — addressing tension in the tricep, bicep, deltoid, rotator cuff, and cervical spine that may be contributing to and perpetuating symptoms.
We follow a clean-first, build-second approach: first using deep tissue massage to eliminate pain, tension, and restriction, then implementing strength and conditioning exercises to improve posture and prevent recurrence.

What Our Clients Say
“I suffered with chronic lower back pain from a bulging disc and it was preventing me from progressing in my exercise and strength building program. I had tried everything from chiropractic to acupuncture before I was recommended to MMT two years ago. I have since learnt that these guys are the leaders in their field and really understand how my body works. They have not only given me the pain relief that I thought would never happen, they have educated me on how to move correctly and avoid injury.”
“Amazing service. Darcy is fantastic with treatments and the lift club. There's a great level of professionalism and he is always ready to give tips and exercises to work on between treatments.”
“Highly rate these guys; been seeing Darcy for some months now and the remedial work, along with the priceless strength and conditioning exercises he gives, fits in perfectly with the professionally coached triathlon training sessions I have.”
“I had pain in my hip & knees for approximately 6 years before coming to see the guys at MMT. I'd tried all kinds of therapies including Physio & Osteo over the years and never really had results to show for the time and money spent. Not only are the guys here genuine, real and authentic but they're also amazing at what they do. Yes, it hurts sometimes but the relief after is 100% worth it.”
“I left feeling so much better after my first visit. The therapy session was designed around me and it was amazing to feel the therapist working on my needs. Would not hesitate in recommending Melbourne Muscular Therapies to anyone. A professional business that is clean, presentable and with friendly staff.”

Common Questions
FAQ's
Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis) is an overuse injury affecting the extensor muscles of the forearm where they attach to the outside of the elbow. Symptoms include difficulty grasping or holding objects, pain or swelling on the outer elbow, and stiffness in the forearm and wrist. Despite the name, you don't need to play tennis to develop it.
Initial treatment combines rest with direct forearm muscle therapy. Compression bandaging and bracing provide symptom relief. Once acute pain settles, we progress to deeper treatment of the entire arm — including the tricep, bicep, deltoid, rotator cuff, and cervical spine — followed by strength training to rebuild stability in the weakened areas.
With targeted deep tissue treatment and the right rehabilitation program, significant improvement is usually seen within 3–6 sessions. Chronic cases that have been present for months or years take longer, but most clients experience meaningful relief within the first couple of treatments.
