As previously mentioned, a common cause of wrist pain is overuse of muscles in the forearm and wrist. Whether you’re a bricklayer repeating an action day in day out, or a desk jockey typing away on your computer, these muscles can become tight due to overuse. Another cause of wrist pain can be referred pain from another muscle group further up the arm, into the shoulder, and sometimes in the chest. Poor posture can lead to trigger points within muscles, which cause referred pain and dysfunction down into the arm and wrist. Lastly, previous injury to the wrist due to a sporting accident or a fall can lead to wrist pain and dysfunction.
